Dr. Mariko CarsonDr. Mariko Carson is a Lead Onboarding Coach within the Department of Strategic Enrollment Management and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Written Communication in the Undergraduate School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Arizona, Master of Science in Management from UMUC, and Doctor of Education from Nova Southeastern University. Prior to her current role, Dr. Carson served as an Academic Advisor for UMUC's Asian and Stateside divisions, as well as a Military Education Coordinator for the European division.

Dr. Debra Mc Laughlin Dr. McLaughlin is the Program Chair for Natural Sciences and Environmental Management and has been with UMUC in different capacities for about 22 years. Prior to serving in her Program Chair role, Dr. McLaughlin was a research scientist and served on the faculty at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences Medical School for 12 years.




Dr. Jennifer Thompson Jennifer Thompson is Program Chair and Collegiate Professor in the Department of Psychology at University of Maryland University College and received her B.A. in Psychology and American History from Vanderbilt University. She received both her M.A. and Ph.D. in Psychology from American University with a concentration on cognitive and experimental psychology.

Velma Hart (UMUC Alumna)Velma Hart received her bachelor of science degree from UMUC and is currently enrolled in the MBA program at UMUC. Velma was Chief Financial Officer at AMVETS for over 10 years, and has held several leadership positions before launching her own business.

Dr. Ravi Mittal Dr. Mittal serves as the Program Chair of the Master of Business Administration in The Graduate School. In addition to his teaching experience at UMUC and other universities, he has 8 years of experience in the information technology industry.

Dr. James Coker Dr. Coker serves as a Program Chair in the Biotechnology program in The Graduate School. He has been teaching for over 20 years in most of the STEM fields and was a bench scientist for 18 years.

Bruce de Grazia Dr. DeGrazia is the Director and Professor of Cyber Security Management and Policy in The Graduate School. He has extensive work experience, to include the US Environmental Protection Agency and an officer in the Navy in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. He also holds numerous IT-related certifications.
